With one in five households in Louisiana at risk of hunger, the solution requires a tremendous community effort. Second Harvest represents the largest charitable anti-hunger network in Louisiana, and we offer a variety of distribution methods in order to reach as many households in need as possible. Non-profit and faith-based food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and other partner organizations located in neighborhoods throughout South Louisiana depend on us to supply food and grocery products year round.
With warehouses in New Orleans and Lafayette, Second Harvest distributes more than 39 million pounds of food and groceries to 700+ partners and programs across South Louisiana, reaching at least 100,000 people each month. That’s enough food for 34 million meals to individuals and families in need.
If you are interested in joining the fight to solve hunger in South Louisiana, please give today. A $1 donation helps us provide 4 meals for a family in need. For more information, contact Second Harvest Chief Impact Officer Melanie McGuire at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 504-729-6340.
