Draft – 2018 Food From the Bar

Food from the Bar 2017: July 17 – July 28!

This year marks the 6th Annual New Orleans Food from the Bar Campaign, organized by the Association for Women Attorneys! Food from the Bar is the legal community’s response to child hunger across the country, in which participants raise funds, donate food, and volunteer at local food banks.

Food from the Bar will again support Second Harvest by donating food & funds through their “Food & Funds Challenge”. In 2016, this fundraising campaign raised more than $34,000 to support the mission of Second Harvest!

It’s simple: No one should go hungry in our community, but in South Louisiana, 1 in 3 children live in poverty and don’t have access to the food they need to grow and thrive. It’s especially challenging during summer months, when kids lose access to the breakfast and lunch programs they normally use at school and donations at the food bank are typically slow.

If your law firm would like to be a part of Food from the Bar, contact Second Harvest Community Relations Manager Kathryn Gsell at kgsell@secondharvest.org or 504-729-2820.
