Job opening: Customer & SNAP-Ed Specialist (Lafayette) 


This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service between the agencies and Lafayette warehouse.  This person will compile and enter all data as it pertains to agency orders, donations, and deliveries. This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all SNAP-Ed rules and regulations.


  • Responsible for all administrative duties for agency relations as it pertains to customer service.
  • Serves as point of contact for telephone, email and walk-in communications.
  • Creates and process agency orders.
  • Maintains delivery and pickup schedules. 
  • Assists with overall deliveries and checks invoices for accuracy.
  • Works closely with Inventory Specialist to prevent variances and improve processes.
  • Maintains client and agency partner database and provides technical support.
  • Files agency confirmation paperwork manually and digitally.
  • Assists emergency pantry visitors.
  • Enters grocery rescue receipts on a daily basis.
  • Serves as back-up for walk-in donations.
  • Ensures that agency web orders are acknowledged, fulfilled, and processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Inputs agency invoices and receivables data into CERES in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follows USDA, Feeding America, OSHA, AIB Int. and other federal or state guidelines in relation to food, employee and volunteer safety.
  • Works cooperatively with SNAP-Ed Project Manager, Program Coordinators and volunteers on evaluation of SNAP-Ed
  • Provides assistance in training of program evaluation procedures and protocols.
  • Provides assistance in the distribution of state evaluation forms for SNAP-Ed.
  • Compiles state data for reports and presentations.
  • Conducts data analysis of SNAP-Ed data to ensure contract compliance.
  • Participates in meetings and committees as appropriate.
  • Complies with all SHFB policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a professional, positive, and courteous demeanor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet company needs.


Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: At least 1-3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Skills and Capabilities

The ideal candidate will possess many of these professional and personal abilities and attributes:

  • Knowledge of standard office management practices and procedures, including reception, record-keeping, prioritization of work and the use of standard office equipment, including computers. Ability to master in-house software and reporting systems.
  • Proficient knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and behavior management skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with emphasis on customer service.
