Warehouse Food Repack

These volunteer opportunities are available at both our New Orleans and Lafayette facilities. Volunteers help us inspect, sort, and repack food and grocery products. Some volunteers load food product onto conveyor belts, some inspect and sort products into itemized categories, and others repack food items into Second Harvest boxes. Volunteers must be at least 9 years old, chaperones for youth & youth groups are required. Individual youth volunteers between the ages of 9 and 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Individual youth volunteers age 13 or older are welcome to volunteer independently, with parental/guardian permission.

New Orleans (700 Edwards Avenue) Repack Volunteer Shift Schedules:

September through May our repack volunteer schedule is: Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Saturday repack shift times are 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

June & July our repack volunteer shifts are on weekdays only: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 pm

Lafayette (215 E Pinhook Rd) Repack Volunteer Shift Schedules:

Volunteer shifts at our Lafayette facility, 215 E Pinhook road are on weekdays, Monday through Friday, with shifts from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Groups of 20 or less are welcome at both locations!
