Becoming a volunteer is easy! Follow these steps:
1️⃣ Click on the city name above where you would like to volunteer.
2️⃣ Then click “Create Account” on the top right.
3️⃣ Create your account on Volunteerhub.
4️⃣ View the available shifts and sign up for whichever work for your schedule! (If you want to see the shifts without signing up, see this page for the current list.)
Please note: upon arrival, you’ll receive a brief orientation and get any other questions answered!
There are several ways you can help:
Kitchen – prep and plate meals
Warehouse – sort and pack food
Mobile Market – set up and help run the grocery
Admin – various clerical duties
Events – set up and help serve food and drinks
Garden – weeding, planting, and harvesting
Distributions – help provide packed food boxes to seniors
We have opportunities for volunteers starting at age 9. Please see specific shifts for age requirements.
All volunteers age 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Chaperone requirements for youth groups vary location and shift, please contact getinvolved@no-hunger.org for more info.
All youth volunteers must complete and return the youth Permission Slip and Liability Waiver

Yes! We encourage youth individuals or groups to do a Food and Fund Drive. Groups are welcome to schedule a time for a visit to Second Harvest to deliver their donations. A member of our Volunteer Services team is happy to give your group a tour of the warehouse to help you learn more about hunger and Second Harvest Food Bank.
A group is considered 4 or more people.

Yes, we accept court appointed volunteers with non-violent offenses.

Second Harvest Community Service Process
• Schedule mandatory orientation for this program (held every Tuesday at 11am)
• Create a volunteer account
• Start reserving Community Service Volunteer shifts

Once you have completed the application and your registration has been accepted, you can start signing up for volunteer opportunities!
