We are able to respond so quickly to this and other disasters because we keep large amounts of prepared meals, other foods, water and disaster supplies on-hand to distribute at a moment’s notice. Your monetary donation is vital to our disaster-response readiness, as well as continuing our mission to fight hunger in South Louisiana.

How to get help: Call our benefits helpline at 1-855-392-9338. Our helpline is staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Donate food/water/supplies: You can drop off donations of food, water, cleaning supplies and hygiene items at our Elmwood-area facility (700 Edwards Avenue) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or at any Rouses Supermarket.

Our response as of Monday, Feb 20: 

• Since last Tuesday, we’ve distributed more than 140,000 pounds of food, water, cleaning supplies and hygiene items
• Prepared 4,000+ disaster meals in our Community Kitchen
• We are distributing 500+ hot disaster meals every day the rest of this week to three distribution sites. 
• We are also in the process of providing aid to many families still in hotels. As of today (Feb 15) , Entergy reports 519 homes in New Orleans East remain without power. Hundreds of homes with major destruction will not be habitable for some time.
