This program provides low-income families the skills, knowledge and confidence to make healthy and affordable meals through a hands-on six week series of classes. Participants range in age from pre-school to seniors and participate in six-week courses led by Second Harvest staff and volunteers. Classes are conducted at various locations and times throughout our service area. Volunteers are needed to assist as chef instructors, dieticians, nutritionists and class assistants. No formal training is required. Volunteers interested in this program should attend a new volunteer orientation and training. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
