Louisiana has the unfortunate distinction of being one of the states hardest hit by food insecurity—with an estimated one in five households at risk for hunger.
As the largest anti-hunger network, Second Harvest Food Bank is dedicated to ending hunger in Louisiana through various efforts such as food distributions. Every month, Second Harvest supplies enough food to combat hunger insecurity throughout local communities across South Louisiana, from Greater New Orleans to the Bayou Region to Acadiana and Southwest Louisiana. With our resources and essential partner network of 450+ partner organizations, we help make more than 43 million pounds of groceries possible year-round for those most vulnerable to hunger.
Our efforts are instrumental in alleviating the hunger crisis and require a tremendous community effort.
Please give today if you are interested in joining the fight to solve hunger in South Louisiana. A $1 donation helps us provide 3 meals for a family in need.
