It’s Really a Godsend
Geraldine hasn’t been having an easy time. After a knee replacement, major neck surgery, and a fall that set her back, she needs a little extra help. “It’s a struggle,” she says. “I try to watch what I’m doing, but sometimes you just can’t help it.”
Yet she still shows up to help her family. She lives with her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandkids, ages 9 and 6. After her son-in-law lost his job, “every little bit helps.”
“I’m on Social Security … by the time they take Medicare and all like that, I gotta wait until next month to make sure I don’t spend over.”
So Geraldine visits a nearby food pantry. She picks up groceries for her family, and sometimes for her neighbor, too. “This is my contribution to the household — to make sure the kids eat. It’s really a godsend.”
Neighbors like Geraldine are holding families together. You help hold her up. Thank you!
