A major hurricane in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic is the worst-case scenario we dreaded this year. Responding to two major emergencies has been challenging, but our team and volunteers have done amazing work. Now, we are preparing to respond to Hurricane Sally, expected to impact Southeast Louisiana early this week.

Hurricane Laura has left thousands of children, families, and seniors across Southwest Louisiana without food, power, or water. Thanks to supporters like you, Second Harvest is making daily deliveries of food, water and supplies into the hardest hit communities, including Lake Charles and the surrounding rural parishes.

In addition to more than a half-million pounds of food and emergency supplies, we’re also producing tens of thousands of prepared meals in our kitchens in New Orleans and Lafayette to deliver to people in need in Southwest Louisiana.

Because of your support, Second Harvest will be there to help our neighbors recover during the long months ahead. Thank you for providing hope to Hurricane Laura victims during this difficult time.
