Nourishment for the Body and Mind
For many families, the school building is already a place of trust and familiarity. That’s what makes school pantries such an effective way to support children and caregivers. They meet families where they already are, without adding another stop or another barrier.
At a school pantry site supported by Second Harvest Food Bank, shelves of kid-friendly food, dairy items, and everyday staples are available right on campus, and families can pick up food before or after school. The pantry serves the whole household, helping caregivers stretch meals and reduce stress at home.
Across our service area, Second Harvest supports school pantries at 15 schools, helping provide monthly food access for nearly 800 families. Your support helps make this access possible.
“We are so happy and grateful,” shares a school staff member. “We have so many grateful notes from the parents of our students. Thanks, from the bottom of our hearts, for providing us with so many kid-friendly items.”
That sense of care grows through partnership — a partnership between Second Harvest, our community, and generous friends like you.
Because of you, the pantry has become part of the school’s rhythm. Families know where to go. Children feel supported. And help is there, not just once, but again and again.
