Pre-register for DSNAP

As part of hurricane season preparations, all Louisiana residents should make pre-registering for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) a priority. DSNAP provides help in buying groceries to households who do not normally receive SNAP (food stamp) benefits.

Pre-registering will save valuable time following a disaster in getting assistance with buying groceries due to lost income or damages following a disaster. And remember that disasters can strike year-round. In the last two years, we’ve had instances of major flooding and tornadoes hitting South Louisiana in the spring.
