It is estimated that more than 800 million pounds of wholesome food is discarded from retail grocery stores in the United States. Second Harvest Food Bank partners with the grocery store sector to keep millions that food out from going to waste.
Grocers who would like to donate should contact Food Sourcing Specialist Emily Slazer at eslazer@secondharvest.org or at 504-729-2846 to discuss setting up a partnership. Our team will meet with your store management team to explain the value of donating this product and how we can arrange to have it picked up from your location.
