An incredibly generous donation to our disaster response effort
Once again, we are so thankful for the incredible gift from Summit Financial Wealth Advisors, a Lafayette-based company. Following Hurricane Harvey, Summit matched donations to our disaster-relief efforts, up to $50,000 total. Summit Senior Partner Todd Lambert today talked about what led him and his partners to make this very generous gift.
“We wanted to do something for Hurricane Harvey relief, and I knew from personal experience what a great organization Second Harvest is,” Lambert said. “We wanted to partner with an organization that had everything in place, the distribution, and the know-it-all to get it done. We at Summit Financial cannot be more pleased with how this all turned out. They have a wonderful ability to make one dollar go so far and help so many people.”
Donations matched by Summit’s $50,000 commitment allowed us to deliver hundreds of thousands of pounds of food, water, and disaster supplies to thousands of victims of Hurricane Harvey, both in Southwest Louisiana and to our neighbors in Texas.
Our deepest thanks to Summit Financial Wealth Advisors, and to everyone who has been a part of our relief efforts following this and other disasters. Because of support like this, we remain ready to respond to any future disasters to hit our communities, as well as the everyday disaster of hunger.
